RC / MoonPie ASA SAT Announces Major Television Affiliate
Series TV Debut from Cordele to be Seen in 20 Million More Households
The Southeast’s newest and fastest growing Late Model series, the RC Cola / MoonPie ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour, today announced it has reached a television distribution agreement for the new season with the America One Television Network, reaching some 20 million households in the Southeast and across the US.
“We’re thrilled to be able to add our ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour event coverage to America One’s lineup of major sports properties starting in April,” stated Rick Benjamin, play by play host for the ASA’s televised events. “We will take short track stock car fans inside the pit wall and up close on the race track starting in just a few weeks to showcase some of the sport’s rising stars in what I know will be incredibly intense action,” Benjamin added.
The ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour’s inaugural season began on Saturday, March 22nd at Mobile International Speedway in Alabama with North Carolina’s Preston Peltier scoring the victory. The Tour’s television package begins with the next event, on Saturday, April 5th at Watermelon Capital Speedway in Cordele, GA. In all, at least ten ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour events will be televised in a tape-delayed, one-hour format this season. Benjamin’s Visioncast, Inc. and Carolinas Production Group Inc. are producing and distributing the coverage.
America One’s coverage includes more than 160 individual broadcast affiliates. Other major sports in America One’s lineup include the, FIM Motocross, Aston Villa Soccer, professional boxing and MMA (mixed martial arts), and action sports. America One’s programming is available in over 60% of the United States and Puerto Rico via broadcast stations and regional cable sports networks. More information is available at www.americaone.com.
The America One affiliation is a key part of a multi-network distribution package that will showcase the new ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour in more than 50,000,000 television households in the Southeast and across the US beginning in April.
The ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour will visit six southern states featuring the best late model racers in exciting door to door action. All events are 100 green flag laps.
Round number two of the RC Cola / MoonPie ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour will come on Saturday, April 5th, at Watermelon Capital Speedway in Cordele, GA. Pit Gates open at 11:30am with practice commencing at 1:45pm. Qualifying is slated for 6:30pm with the 100-lap feature scheduled for 8:30pm.
